An overnight success in 2005 some 40 years after her debut single, soul diva Bettye LaVette recorded this album for Motown in 1982. Teamed with ace producer Steve Buckingham, she cut these ten songs with the cream of Nashville and Memphis musicians. Critically acclaimed at the time of its release but totally at odds with what Motown was then recording, “Tell Me A Lie” sounds as fresh today as it did when originally released.
Remastered in 24 bit from the original analog masters. 12 page booklet.
